Why do I need an Air Exchange System?
Now that you have effectively and efficiently added spray foam insulation to your house and eliminated all those drafts, it is a good time to start thinking about how to improve your indoor air quality. Many homes today are considered to be so well insulated that they are referred to as "tight". Now that your house is so well insulated you should take full advantage of being able to breathe the same fresh air indoors as you would outdoors. According to the specialist, central ventilation and filtration effectively eliminate airborne pollutants and excess humidity, thereby protecting your family's health and structure of your house.
What is an efficiency rating?
The efficiency rating refers to the effectiveness of the temperature transfer between the incoming air and the outgoing air. If the outside temperature is 20 degrees with the indoor temperature 70 degrees, this results in a 50 degree differential. If the Air Exchanger is 80 percent efficient, it will raise the temperature of the incoming air (.8 X 50) 40 degrees Therefore, fresh air at 60 degrees is entering your house instead of fresh air at 20 degrees.
